The metrorail in the capital has resumed operations after the holy Eid-ul-Fitr holiday (only on Eid day). At the same time, Bangladesh Railway's intercity trains operating across the country have also started to run.
In a special announcement before Eid, the verified Facebook page of the metro operator Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has informed that metro rail service will be closed only on the day of Eid on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr 2025 and this service will continue as usual on other days.
On the other hand, in an inter-ministerial meeting before Eid, Bangladesh Railway director general Md. Afzal Hossain said intercity train services will be closed across the country on Eid day. All train days-off will be canceled before Eid and this cancellation will be effective again after Eidday.
According to the Dhaka Railway Station, the first train of the day, the Tourist Express, left Dhaka Railway Station for Cox's Bazar at 6:15 am.
On the other hand, the first trip of the day, the Metrorail, left Uttara North Station for Motijheel at 7:10 am. And the first train from Motijheel left for Uttara North Station at 7:30 am.
