Seven people, including three children, have died in a firecracker explosion triggered by a cylinder blast in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas.
The incident occurred at a house in the Dholahat area, where a cylinder exploded, setting off a fire that spread through the building.
Four people remain missing. Police have launched an investigation, and the death toll is expected to rise.
The family has been engaged in making firecrackers for a long time. They have a license to make firecrackers.
According to local media reports, there are a total of 11 members in their family. Chandrakant Banik and Tushar Banik are two brothers. Their father Arvind Banik (65), grandmother Prabhavati Banik (80), Chandrakant's wife Santwana Banik (28), two children Arnav Banik (9) and Asmita Banik (8 months) and Tushar's two children Anushka Banik (6 months) and Ankit Banik (6 months) died in the accident on Monday. Tushar's wife is admitted to the hospital in a critical condition. The three were outside the house.
