During CinemaCon 2025, Tom Holland revealed the official title of Spider-Man 4: Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The highly anticipated film is set for release on July 31, 2026, marking an exciting new chapter for the beloved superhero.
Holland appeared in a video message to fans, expressing his gratitude and excitement for this fresh start. "Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a fresh start," Holland shared, signaling a new direction for the iconic character.
Director Destin Daniel Cretton, who is helming the film, also took the stage at CinemaCon. Known for his work on Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Cretton shared his enthusiasm for working with Spider-Man, noting his lifelong admiration for Peter Parker’s “humor” and “messy humanity.” He promised that the movie would deliver “a ride that we haven’t really seen before.”
The title Brand New Day references the 2008 storyline where Spider-Man’s secret identity was erased from the memories of everyone in the Marvel Universe—a storyline that also ended Peter Parker and Mary Jane’s marriage. This storyline is a fitting nod to the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), where the world forgot who Spider-Man and Peter Parker were.
Holland’s previous Spider-Man films—Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)—have been hugely successful, with No Way Home earning over $1.9 billion globally. Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna, who penned the screenplay for No Way Home, return to write the new film.
Fans can also look forward to other Marvel films coming in the near future, including Thunderbolts in May 2025, The Fantastic Four: First Steps in July, and Avengers: Doomsday next year.
CinemaCon 2025, running from March 31 to April 3, serves as the premier event for the entertainment industry, where major studios and filmmakers reveal their upcoming projects.
