India beat Bangladesh in the must-win game to reach the semifinal of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in Adelaide of Australia on Wednesday by 5 runs in the D/L method.
Virat Kohli's unbeaten 64 off 44 balls and KL Rahul's 50 off 32 balls powered India to 184-6.
In reply, Bangladesh got off to a flying start thanks to Liton's fiery innings, reaching 66-0 in seven overs before rain stopped play.
Bangladesh were set a revised target of 151 in 16 overs as play resumed after a brief spell of rain. Chasing India's 184 for six, Bangladesh were 66 for no loss in seven overs when the skies opened up, forcing the players to leave the ground.
Nurul Hasan's 25 off 14 balls and a 12 off seven from Taskin took Bangladesh agonisingly close to the target. But in the end, they fell short.
Arshdeep Singh held his nerve on the final ball as Bangladesh needed 7 runs to win, to help India register a narrow 5-run win.
Virat Kohli has become the player of the match.
