Bangladesh have kept the hope to go into the semifinal of Twenty20 World Cup as it defeated Zimbabwe by 3 runs in their third game of the Super 12 at the Twenty20 World Cup at Brisbane's Gabba ground on Sunday after so much drama.
Zimbabwean batter Sean Williams scored brilliant 64 runs off 42 runs while Bangladesh bowlers Tanskin Ahmed and Mostafizur Rahman bagged 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
Earlier in the first innings, Bangladesh scored 150 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs.
Opener Najmul Hossain Shanto scored the highest 71 runs off 55 balls which is the first half-century of Bangladesh in the going World Cup.
Another opener Soumya Sarkar got out after scoring 0 runs from 2 balls. Middle-order batter Afif Hossain scored 29 runs off 19 balls.
On the other hand, Zimbabwean bowlers Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani bagged two wickets each in 4 and 2 overs, respectively.
Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and chose to bat first.
