Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s Netrokona district unit organised a health awareness discussion and educational material distribution programme at Hossenpur Government Primary School in Netrokona municipality on Thursday to promote health consciousness, cleanliness and interest in education among children.
The programme was held at the premises of the 43 Hossenpur Government Primary School and was attended by teachers, students, guardians and local dignitaries. The event featured a lively and festive atmosphere with enthusiastic participation from children.
During the programme, speakers discussed personal hygiene, proper handwashing practices, maintaining cleanliness, the importance of nutritious food and the necessity of regular study habits. They stressed the importance of a clean environment and health awareness for the healthy development of children.
Following the discussion, notebooks, pens and other educational materials were distributed among meritorious and underprivileged students of the school. The students expressed joy after receiving the educational supplies, while teachers and guardians appreciated the humanitarian initiative taken by the organisers.
The event was presided over by Abdur Rahman, president of Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s Netrokona district unit.
Among others present were Assistant Teacher and Women and Children Affairs Secretary Mahmuda Akter, Assistant Teachers Rozina Akter, Jemy, Shamima Sultana and Mahmuda Hossain, along with Bashundhara Shuvosangho members Sami, Ariful Islam Lion and Salim.
Teachers, students and local distinguished persons also attended the programme.
Speakers at the event said there is no alternative to education and health awareness in building a better future for children. They noted that if affluent individuals and social organisations come forward, underprivileged students would also get the opportunity to benefit from education.
They added that such humanitarian and education-friendly initiatives not only boost children’s confidence but also increase their interest in school activities.
