Members of Bashundhara Shuvosangho on Saturday distributed clean drinking water and oral saline in Abhaynagar upazila of Jashore to provide relief to working people amid the intense heat.
The initiative was carried out by the Abhaynagar upazila unit Shuvosangho at Nowapara Noorbagh Independence Square.
Receiving water and saline, rickshaw-van puller Rahmat Ali Morol expressed gratitude to the Shuvosangho members. “May Allah reward those who are doing such humanitarian work for working people,” he added.
Abhaynagar upazila unit Shuvosangho General Secretary Akib Hossain Galib said, “To provide some relief during the severe heatwave, clean water and oral saline were distributed among labourers and passers-by.
“Around 50 working people, including rickshaw pullers and pedestrians, received water and saline. Bashundhara Shuvosangho will continue such positive initiatives for the welfare of society,” he added.
Among others present at the programme were Abhaynagar upazila unit Shuvosangho Adviser and Kaler Kantho’s Abhaynagar correspondent Syed Jahid Masud Taj, Joint Secretary Hasan Masud, Treasurer Ashikur Rahman, and members Sohan Sheikh, Israfil Molla, Rony Ahmed, and Hasan Mahmud.
