The Vatara unit Bashundhara Shuvosangho on Friday participated in a cricket tournament organised to inspire youths to engage in sports, strengthen social bonds, and help build a healthy and beautiful society.
Through their participation, the members of Shuvosangho highlighted the importance of sportsmanship, youth unity, and positive social activities.
The cricket tournament was held in the capital’s Vatara area, where enthusiastic participation from teams and spectators created a lively atmosphere. From the very beginning, the ground was filled with festivity and excitement.
Various social and cultural personalities present at the tournament said that one of the main reasons behind the rise of drugs, juvenile gangs, and various criminal activities in society today is the lack of proper guidance for young people.
If youths can be involved in sports and social activities, they will be able to play an important role in the development of the country and society, they said.
Vatara unit Shuvosangho President Md Sabbir Hossain Rupok said sports are not only a source of entertainment but also teach young people discipline, leadership, self-confidence, and teamwork.
“At present, sports play a crucial role in bringing youths out of addiction to mobile phones and the virtual world. Such tournaments help create positive thinking and social responsibility among young people,” he said.
Organising Secretary Fahim Hasan said, “Besides humanitarian, social, and voluntary activities, Bashundhara Shuvosangho has always been working to promote the physical and mental development of young people.
“This kind of arrangement and participation is aimed at involving youths in positive social change. In the future, there are plans to work on a larger scale in sports, education, environmental, and humanitarian activities as well,” he added.
