A book reading session, organised by Bashundhara Shuvosangho, was held on Monday afternoon at the Gangachara Government College ground in Rangpur, where reading was not just an activity but a remarkable confluence of thought, awareness, and inner awakening.
The reading circle featured works by renowned novelist Imdadul Haq Milan, including Nurjahan, Dakatrao Manush, Shei Bideshi Meye, Noy Mash, and Rohoshshomoy Jongol Bari. Each story and character seemed to come alive anew through the voices of the readers.
Speaking at the event, Gangachara upazila unit Shuvosangho President Asaduzzaman said, “Books do not only provide knowledge; they shape us as human beings. That is why we organise such events every month, so that the younger generation becomes attracted to books and enriches their thoughts and consciousness.”
He said the initiative aims to build a book-oriented, thoughtful, and aware generation.
Participants said the event was not only recreational but also inspired them to develop reading habits and broaden their thinking.
Among others present at the programme were Shuvosangho Joint General Secretary Akash Mia, and members Saima Jinnia, Takiya Sabira Akter, Shanu, Umme Hani Akter, Sujan Sarkar, Tanmoy Sarkar, Jiol, Selim Mia, Sajib Khan, and Manna.
