The Vatara unit of Bashundhara Shuvosangho has donated educational materials to a madrasa in Dhaka as part of a humanitarian initiative to support education.
The programme was held on Friday at Al Jamiatul Islamia Idaratul Ulum Madrasa with the aim of improving the learning environment for students and ensuring quality education.
Prof Dr Md Rashidul Hasan, adviser to the Vatara unit of Bashundhara Shuvosangho, attended the event as the chief guest.
The event was chaired by Vatara unit President Md Sabbir Hossain Rupok, while members of the organisation were also present.
According to organisers, the madrasa had long been facing a shortage of essential educational materials. After learning of the issue, members of the branch visited the institution, assessed the situation, and later arranged the donation of necessary items, including whiteboards.
Speaking at the event, Rashidul said education is the main driving force of social development. He added that providing whiteboards to the madrasa would make teaching activities for orphan students easier, more modern, and more effective.
He further said that ensuring access to quality education is essential for national progress, noting that students often fall behind due to the lack of basic educational equipment. He described the initiative as an important step toward supporting the next generation.
Students and teachers of the madrasa expressed their joy after receiving the whiteboards. They said classroom activities had long been hampered by the shortage of teaching materials, but the new whiteboards would now make lessons easier and more effective.
Unit President Md Sabbir Hossain Rupok said Bashundhara Shuvosangho always gives priority to humanitarian and educational activities. He added that the organisation decided to provide the whiteboards after learning that teaching at the madrasa was being disrupted due to the shortage.
The initiative has been widely praised by local residents, who expressed hope that such efforts would inspire other organisations and contribute positively to improving educational standards through collective action.
