The Jahangirnagar University unit Bashundhara Shuvosangho distributed educational materials to underprivileged children on the campus on Monday.
Members of the organisation handed out notebooks, pens, and other essential learning materials to over 50 children associated with Tori, a student-run volunteer group at the university.
Established in 2008, Tori has been running educational programmes for underprivileged children.
The organisers said the initiative aims to foster a love for learning among disadvantaged children and to support them in their educational journey.
JU unit Shuvosangho President Protyasha Rani, Vice-President Anudip Sarkar, General Secretary Sanjida Khanom, Publicity Secretary Rifat Bin Nur, Organising Secretary Poran Chandra Roy, Office Secretary KM Zahid Bin Khalid, Social Welfare Secretary Mohammad Sharif, Programme and Planning Secretary Jannatara Ferdous Elsa, Education and Curriculum Secretary Sumaiya Akter, and other members of the organisation were present at the event.
Protyasha Rani said, “We are delighted to provide learning materials to the children of Tori. Seeing their smiles with new notebooks and pens inspires us. We will continue such initiatives in the future.”
Sanjida Khanom added, “We are consistently working to provide educational opportunities to underprivileged children. Such initiatives will continue to ensure that no child is left behind.”
