Bashundhara Shuvosangho activists organised a general knowledge contest for students of Shahin School, a renowned high school in Gopalganj, at the school auditorium on Tuesday.
Around 50 schoolchildren from class six to nine took part in the contest.
The questions focused on the Bengali New Year, and Bangladesh to improve the sense of local heritage and culture among the young generation.
The winners included Rye Karmakar Prapti of class nine as champion, SM Joy of class eight as first runner-up and Mohammad Saimur Rahman of class eight as second runner-up.
Shahin School Director Md Aminul Islam, Principal Mostafizur Rahman, school administrative official Md Al-Imran Sumon, also Shuvosangho Gopalganj district unit Vice-President, and the district unit’s President Sujon Das were present at the event, among others.
School Director Md Aminul Islam lauded Shuvosangho’s initiative which he said helped advanced knowledge practice beyond textbook studies.
