Bashundhara Shuvosangho organised a discussion in Char Fasson upazila of Bhola on Thursday marking Independence Day.
The programme was arranged by the Char Fasson upazila unit of Shuvosangho to spread the spirit of independence among the younger generation and inspire patriotism.
Convener Shamima Nasrin, Member Secretary Kawsar Ahmed, Joint Conveners Habibur Rahman Miraj, Maria Islam and Zobayer Jubu, along with committee members Md Hossain, Taiyeba Tanni, Jannat Begum, Fatema Faroha, Naim Munshi and Zahidul Islam, among others, were present.
Speaking at the discussion, members of Bashundhara Shuvosangho said, “Independence Day is not just a day; it is a glorious chapter of our national history. We must remain conscious and responsible in preserving the independence achieved through the Great Liberation War of 1971.”
They stressed the need to inform the new generation about the true history of the Liberation War and to inspire them with patriotism, describing it as one of the most important responsibilities of the present time.
The speakers also noted that Bashundhara Shuvosangho has been playing a leading role in different social development activities, working to bring positive change through education, humanitarian support and awareness-building.
A cultural programme was held after the discussion, featuring patriotic songs, poetry recitation and drama performances, which captivated the audience.
