The newly formed committee of Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s Gopalganj district unit organised an introduction session, organisational discussion, and an iftar mahfil at Shushashan Chattar in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Tuesday.
The introductory meeting began around 4pm in the presence of all members, with a recitation from the Holy Quran by organisation member Mahfuzur Rahman. This was followed by the introduction session presided over by the newly elected president, Sujan Das, where members introduced themselves.
After the session, the president delivered a speech on the organisation’s activities. “We want to be part of all good initiatives and contribute to meaningful work. Your active participation in this effort is highly expected.”
He added, “In times of disaster and crisis, Bashundhara Shuvosangho always stands by people as a humanitarian organisation. We seek your prayers for Bashundhara Group and Shuvosangho.”
Humayun Ahmed Palak, vice-president of the Gopalganj Science and Technology University unit Shuvosangho, was present as a special guest at the event. He said, “Alongside the university unit, we want to stay involved in all positive initiatives of the district unit.”
Gopalganj district unit Shuvosangho Vice-President Md Al Imran Sumon said, “I have long been inspired by the organisation’s activities. Today, I feel honoured to be part of this organisation. In the future, I will work to expand its activities in my own institution.”
General Secretary Turjo Rahman said, “I have been working with Shuvosangho for four years. Now, in a responsible role, I want to carry out my duties with greater dedication and move forward together with everyone.”
Before iftar, a prayer session was conducted by Vice-President Sumon, offering prayers for the chairman of Bashundhara Group and his family, all members of the organisation, and the welfare of the nation.
