Bashundhara Shuvosangho organised an iftar event with orphans and underprivileged children in Jatrabari of the capital on Wednesday.
The feast was hosted at Hosne Ara Banu Madrasa and Orphanage under Jatrabari Police Station, where nearly fifty orphans and children from extremely poor families took part.
The humanitarian initiative was organized under the overall guidance of Bashundhara Shuvosangho Dhaka Metropolitan Unit Coordinator Abdul Hannan Milton. The event was managed and conducted by Jatrabari Police Station Branch President Towfiq ul Islam and General Secretary Ijarun Nesa.
The principal of the madrasa, Maulana Md Mozzammel Haque, attended the program as the chief guest. Praising such humanitarian initiatives, he said that the month of Ramadan teaches compassion and humanity, and standing beside orphans and helpless children reflects the true spirit of this holy month.
Teachers Hafez Maulana Md Saurav and Qari Md Bulbul Ahmed were also present at the event.
Leaders from various branches of Bashundhara Shuvosangho also joined the program. Among them were Siddhirganj Thana branch President Khan Shahriar Faisal and Ramna Thana branch President Ashiq Ahmed.
