Ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the Greater Chattogram chapter of Bashundhara Shuvosangho distributed Eid essentials among poor and destitute people in Patiya of Chattogram. The humanitarian initiative was taken to bring the joy of Eid to underprivileged members of society.
The distributed items included vermicelli, sugar, chickpeas, raisins, puffed rice, powdered milk and other essential food items.
Among those present at the event were adviser of the Bashundhara Shuvosangho Chattogram unit Abdul Hakim Rana; president of the Bashundhara Shuvosangho Greater Chattogram chapter SM A Jewel, organising secretary of the chapter Md Parvez, and joint organising secretary Ariful Islam, among others.
Speaking at the event, adviser Abdul Hakim Rana said, “Eid means joy, and that joy is truly fulfilled when the underprivileged and disadvantaged members of society can also share in it. This initiative by Bashundhara Shuvosangho is truly commendable. I hope they will continue such humanitarian activities in the future.”
President of the Bashundhara Shuvosangho Greater Chattogram chapter SM A Jewel said, “Bashundhara Shuvosangho has always been working for the welfare of society. Standing beside the underprivileged ahead of Eid is our social responsibility. We want everyone in society to share the joy of Eid together.”
