The Patgram upazila unit of Bashundhara Shuvosangho organised a discussion titled “The Taqwa of Ramadan” followed by an iftar mahfil to mark the holy month of Ramadan.
The programme was held on Friday in Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat district with the participation of leaders and members of the organisation.
Speakers at the discussion said that Ramadan is not only a month of restraint but also a time for self-purification, patience, tolerance and the development of humanitarian values.
They urged everyone to follow the teachings of Ramadan to promote peace, harmony and compassion in society.
Among those present were Advisers of the Patgram upazila unit Md Masud Rana and Asadul Haque Milon.
Also attending the programme were unit President Md Sumon Islam, Vice-Presidents Shariful Islam Abhi and Md Rashikuzzaman Ratan, General Secretary Md Saiful Islam, Joint General Secretaries Mominur Islam and Jewel Hasan Maruf, Organising Secretary Tamim Iqbal Tushar and Assistant Organising Secretary Belal Hossain Labib.
Other participants included Office Secretary Md Palash Islam and Assistant Office Secretary Golam Rabbani, Treasurer Md Masud Hossain and Assistant Treasurer Zubayer Ahmed Sad, Event Affairs Secretary Md Rakib Hasan Riyad, Religious Affairs Secretary Md Hossain Ali, Publicity Secretary JR Jasim, Planning Affairs Secretary Alamgir Islam, Health and Medical Affairs Secretary Rezwan Islam, Relief and Disaster Affairs Secretary Md Samrat Hossain, Social Welfare Affairs Secretary Khadimul Islam, Information and Technology Affairs Secretary Md Matiur Rahman, Hospitality Affairs Secretary Tawseef Islam and Legal Affairs Secretary Md Emdadul Haque, along with other members of the organisation.
The programme concluded with a special prayer seeking peace and prosperity for the Muslim Ummah as well as the welfare of the country and the nation, followed by an iftar attended by all participants.
