A Quran recitation competition was held in Ghoraghat upazila of Dinajpur to encourage children and teenagers to recite the Holy Quran and inspire them in Islamic culture and learning.
The competition was organised by the Ghoraghat upazila unit of Bashundhara Shuvosangho at Hamidpur Al Quran Hafizia Madrasa on Saturday.
Around 30 students from different areas of the upazila took part in the event.
According to the judges’ verdict, Md Abdur Rahman secured first place, while Md Asaduzzaman and Md Bellal Hossain came second and third respectively.
The top three winners received special prizes. All participating students were also awarded.
Muhtamim of Hamidpur Al Quran Hafizia Madrasa Maulana Rabiul Islam attended the programme as the chief guest.
He thanked Bashundhara Shuvosangho for organising the event and said he was impressed by the recitations of the participants, wishing them continued success.
Among others present were President of Bashundhara Shuvosangho Ghoraghat unit Turag Khan, General Secretary Kawsar Habib, executive member Jewel Rana, Mehedi Hasan and other members of the organisation.
