The Mymensingh district unit of Bashundhara Shuvosangho distributed food items to a madrasa in the district to mark the holy month of Ramadan.
The food distribution programme was held on Friday at Madrasatur Rahman Al Islamia Madrasa, located beside Baitut Taqwa Jame Mosque in the Golgonda area of Mirbari Road under Mymensingh Sadar Upazila.
Muhtamim of the madrasa, Mufti Al Amin Huda, expressed gratitude for the humanitarian initiative of Bashundhara Shuvosangho.
He thanked the chairman of Bashundhara Group and all those involved for supporting the madrasa students as in previous years.
Among those present at the programme were Adviser of the Mymensingh district unit Nizam Uddin Sourav, President Nafiul Hasan Mubin, General Secretary Tanvir Ahmed Naim, Organising Secretary Animur Rahman Riad, Travel and Cultural Affairs Secretary Ashesh Dev, Education and Reading Circle Secretary Al Shahriar Bibek and Publicity Secretary Anitur Rahman Sadi.
Teachers of the madrasa including Hafez Sifat Ullah, Hafez Shuaib and Hafez Nazir Ahmed were also present.
Speaking at the event, President Nafiul Hasan Mubin said the holy month of Ramadan teaches sacrifice, restraint and compassion.
He noted that it is a moral responsibility to stand beside the underprivileged during this time and added that Bashundhara Shuvosangho has always played a leading role in humanitarian and social activities and will continue such initiatives in the future.
Students and authorities of the madrasa also expressed their gratitude for the support provided by Bashundhara Shuvosangho.
