In an effort to strengthen harmony, humanity and brotherhood during the holy month of Ramadan, Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s Faridpur district unit organised a community iftar and prayer gathering with local villagers.
The programme was held on Wednesday evening at the premises of Binokdia Chairman Bari Jame Mosque in Laksardiya union under Nagarkanda upazila of the district.
The event brought together local residents, devout worshippers and orphan students, creating a warm and cordial atmosphere.
Prior to the iftar, a special prayer and munajat was conducted by the mosque’s imam, Hafez Abdul Aleem Matubbar, seeking blessings for the country, the nation and the welfare of Bashundhara Group.
Prayers were also offered for the progress of institutions engaged in humanitarian services and for the establishment of peace and harmony in society.
Alongside local villagers, several orphan students from Shakpaldia Hafezia Madrasa, including Md Tajibul and Md Hasan, joined the iftar gathering, adding a strong humanitarian spirit to the event.
Among those present were former chairman of Laksardiya union Shah Md Mashiur Rahman, Nagarkanda upazila BNP member Ripon Mia, Adviser of Bashundhara Shuvosangho and district correspondent of Kaler Kantho Md Nur Islam, district unit President Tanmoy Roy, Hospitality Affairs Secretary Tihan Ahmed, President of proposed committee of Nagarkanda upazila unit Shah Md Toufiq Raj, Vice-President Kajol Mia, General Secretary Nahid Matubbar, Joint General Secretary Sajal Molla, Organising Secretary Sabbir Hasan and Office Secretary Rajib Sheikh, along with more than fifty worshippers.
Organisers said the main objective of the event was to bring together people from different walks of life and promote a sense of brotherhood in light of the spirit of Ramadan.
They expressed hope that Bashundhara Shuvosangho would continue to stand beside people through various humanitarian and social initiatives in the future.
