Bashundhara Shuvosangho organised an iftar mahfil, a gathering for breaking fast, for underprivileged children on the Shaheed Minar premises at Chittagong University (CU) on Monday.
Shuvosangho CU Branch Adviser Professor Dr Makhan Chandra Roy said, “Today’s iftar arrangement was truly lively and heartwarming. The joy the children expressed upon receiving their iftar was genuinely touching. Sitting and sharing iftar with them was an extraordinary experience. I hope that Shuvosangho will continue such welfare-oriented activities in the future.”
Shuvosangho CU Branch President Jannatul Ferdous Tumpa said, “I thank everyone for the sincerity and hard work they put into organising this noble event for underprivileged street children. As a social service organisation, it is our responsibility to think about every member of society.”
Shuvosangho CU Branch General Secretary Shahriar Munim Sabit said, “Ramadan teaches us restraint and compassion. We are all part of the same society. Just as it is our duty to think about the underprivileged, any arrangement that includes them is a source of true joy.”
