Bashundhara Shuvosangho organised two separate contests on Islamic song rendition and Quranic verse recitation at the Noorani Academy and Kindergarten Madrasa in Siddhirganj area of Narayanganj.
In total, 30 madrasa children took part in the two competitions. The top three finalists in the Quran recitation category were: Umama, Israfil and Mehedi Hasan. The winner and runners-up in the musical category were: Noornabi, Ismail and Junayed.
All the six toppers got Islamic books and copies of the Holy Quran as prizes. All the participants received pens as consolation gifts.
Madrasa Principal Maulana Md Mozammel Haque was the chief guest, and judges were madrasa teachers Hafez Maulana Md Sourov, and Qa’ari Md Bulbul Ahmed.
Shuvosangho’s Siddhirganj area unit President Khan Shahriar Faisal organised the programme, while the organisation’s Dhaka city unit Coordinator Abdul Hannan Milton served as the coordinator.
The ogranisers said they would keep arranging similar events in the future to encourage ethical behaviours and religious practice among students.
