Bashundhara Shuvosangho organised a Quran recital and an Islamic musical programme at a madrasa in Bhola on Friday to familiarise the young generation with the spiritual, noble and aesthetic essence of Islam.
Students of the madrasa – named Baitul Gafur Madrasa – joined the programme. Towards the end, prizes were distributed among the top five best performers in each of the two events.
In the Quran recitation category, Md Imran was the topper, Md Abdullah was second, Md Ikram came third, Rahad was adjudged fourth and Md Fuad was ranked fifth.
In Islamic music presentation, Md Junaid was first, Md Tamim was second, Md Muhid was third, Md Shamim was fourth and Md Mumin was fifth.
Hafez Kawsar Ahmad, vice-president at Shuvosangho’s Bhola district unit, said, “Such initiatives are extremely important to inspire the present generation with morality, religious values, and a sense of humanity. On behalf of Bashundhara Shuvosangho, we have always been working to build an ideal society enlightened by the teachings of the Qur’an, and we will continue such activities in the future as well.”
He further said, “Through competitions, children, adolescents, and youths will develop greater interest in Qur’anic education and become more deeply connected with Islamic culture. This will play a positive role in promoting morality, harmony, and human values in society.”
Md Imran, who secured first place in the Qur’an recitation competition, said, “Such competitions are strengthening our confidence and religious enthusiasm. I sincerely thank Bashundhara Shuvosangho for this wonderful initiative.”
Md Junaid, who won first place in the Islamic music competition, said, “Through Islamic songs, I have been able to convey the beauty and message of peace of our religion to everyone. This kind of competition further strengthens our confidence.”
The guardians of the participants said, “In today’s competition, our children not only showcased their talents but also had the opportunity to both gain and disseminate religious awareness and moral education. This initiative by Bashundhara Shuvosangho is truly commendable.”
Local dignitaries, teachers, guardians, and madrasa students were present at the programme.
