A quiz competition has been held at Eden Mohila College with the aim of promoting intellectual development and nurturing a competitive mindset among students.
The event was organised on Tuesday on the college campus by the Eden Mohila College unit Bashundhara Shuvosangho.
Through the event, students’ awareness of various contemporary issues was enhanced, while their intellect and analytical abilities were evaluated through questions based on Bangla, English, Mathematics, and general knowledge.
Such initiatives, alongside academic studies, created enthusiasm and excitement among students as they are also helpful for preparation for the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) and other competitive examinations.
Eden Mohila College unit Shuvosangho President Faria Haque Tajim said, “Our college students are attentive not only to their academic syllabus but also to job preparation. To make that preparation more effective and enjoyable, we organised this quiz competition.
“The spontaneous participation of students proves that such initiatives are timely and necessary,” she added.
Sanjida Islam, a student of the 2021-22 academic session, secured first place, Faria Yasmin Akhi of the 2024-25 session became second, and Arifa Khatun of the 2022-23 session secured third place in the event.
Eden Mohila College unit Shuvosangho member Alpona Akter said, “Such innovative and creative events increase students’ interest in studies and inspire them to learn new things. We hope to continue organising similar activities in the future.”
Among others, Lia, Tahmina, Jyoti, Umme Mahfuza Tabassum, Israt Jahan Shova, Shahida, Poly, Chumki Khatun, Jannatul Ferdous, Jannatul, Joya, Iffat Sultana, Barsha, Suhada, Fariha, Nusrat Jahan Tinni, Maksura Aboni, Runa Akter, Sumaiya Suha, Hasna Khatun, Nurnahar Khatun, and Sumaiya Afroz were present.
At the end of the programme, an open discussion was held in a joyful atmosphere, and prizes were distributed among the participants and the winners.
The organisers expressed hope that such initiatives would play a significant role in the intellectual development of students.
