Under the slogan “Good deeds first,” Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s Sherpur district unit organised a winter clothes distribution programme on Thursday.
The programme took place in the afternoon at Sherpur Siddiqia Orphanage, where winter clothes were distributed among 30 orphan students.
Shuvosangho Sherpur district unit president Minhaz Uddin presided over the event, while general secretary journalist Mehdi Hasan Shamim moderated it.
Speaking as chief guest, Minhaz Uddin said Bashundhara Shuvosangho always comes forward in humanitarian and welfare activities. “We distributed winter clothes to ease the sufferings of cold-stricken orphan children. Our humanitarian activities will continue in the future as well,” he said.
Others who spoke on the occasion included vice-president Ashraful Islam, joint secretary Faisal Ahmed, Jamia Siddiqia Madrasa Muhaddis Ashraful Islam, Madrasatul Atfal Mohtamim Jafar Ahmed and organisation member Mahaimin Sabid.
