A cleanliness drive was organised by Bashundhara Shuvosangho in Charfesson upazila of Bhola district to promote environmental protection and raise public awareness.
The campaign was carried out from Friday morning across key roads, market areas and crowded public places of Charfesson under the initiative of Bashundhara Shuvosangho.
Members of the Bashundhara Shuvosangho Charfesson Upazila unit actively took part in the drive. Wearing gloves and using cleaning equipment, they collected garbage from roadsides and public areas and disposed of it at designated locations. At the same time, they urged local residents to dispose of waste in proper places.
Among those present were Shamima Nasrin, convener of the Bashundhara Shuvosangho Charfesson Upazila unit; Hafiz Kawsar Ahmed, member secretary; Joint Convener Maria; and members Mosharraf Hossain, Md Zenid, Hafiz Abu Raihan, along with other volunteers.
Speaking on the occasion, Shamima said, “Cleanliness is not just a programme; it is a habit. There is no alternative to a clean environment for a healthy life and a beautiful society. This initiative aims to make young people more aware and actively involved in this cause.”
Maria said, “Bashundhara Shuvosangho has been regularly carrying out humanitarian and social activities across the country. The cleanliness drive is part of that effort and will continue in the future.”
Local residents welcomed the initiative, saying that regular programmes of this kind would not only improve the environment but also increase public awareness.
The Bashundhara Shuvosangho Charfesson Upazila unit also called on everyone to maintain cleanliness and work together to build a cleaner Charfesson.
