Bashundhara Shuvosangho has extended support to underprivileged and destitute people suffering from the severe winter cold by distributing winter clothing in Tangail.
Under the initiative of the Tangail district unit of Bashundhara Shuvosangho, winter garments were distributed among cold-stricken people on Wednesday (14 Jan).
The distribution took place in the afternoon at the Bashundhara Shuvosangho Tangail district unit office, located at the Berabuchna Water Tank intersection in Tangail town.
In addition, more than a hundred winter clothes were distributed later at night at different locations across the town.
Among those present at the event were Bashundhara Shuvosangho Tangail district unit General Secretary Md Nasir Uddin, Vice President Maulana Masudur Rahman, Joint Secretary Engineer Abdul Momen, Organising Secretary Mehebub Islam Ruman, Treasurer Al Amin Matabbar, Shawkat Hossain, and other leaders and members of the organisation.
Speaking at the distribution event, Nasir said, “Alleviating the suffering of poor and helpless people during the winter season is the main objective of the Bashundhara Shuvosangho Tangail district unit. Bashundhara Shuvosangho has always stood by disadvantaged people through humanitarian activities and will continue such social and humanitarian initiatives in the future.”
Maulana Masudur Rahman said, “Serving humanity is the core mission of Bashundhara Shuvosangho. If affluent members of society come forward with such humanitarian initiatives, a compassionate and empathetic society can be built.”
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Bashundhara Shuvosangho for the assistance and urged the organisation to continue similar humanitarian activities in the future.
Bashundhara Shuvosangho regularly implements various humanitarian programmes every year across the country to support people affected by winter.
As part of this ongoing effort, the winter clothing distribution programme organised by the Tangail district unit was successfully carried out.
