Bashundhara Shuvosangho organized a vegetable-themed writing competition in Adamdighi of Bogura to inspire youth to engage with and appreciate vegetation.
Nearly one hundred students participated in the competition held in the Talshan Charkatala area of the upazila on Tuesday, where they learnt about 19 types of vegetables.
Fifteen participants were recognized as winners of the competition.
Adamdighi Press Club president Hafizar Rahman attended the prize-giving ceremony as the chief guest, while Shuvosangho upazila unit vice-president Ahsan Habib Tuhin and Kaler Kantho correspondent Tariqul Islam Gentu also spoke at the event.
"The students thoroughly enjoyed the event. We were amazed to see them instantly identify the vegetables and write their names and benefits in both Bengali and English. We're grateful to Bashundhara Shuvosangho for the arrangement," said teachers Shiuli Rani and Sukhi Banu.
Shuvosangho adviser Engineer Nazrul Islam, social activist Shibnath Chandra Pal, and health officer Ruhul Amin were among those present.
