Bashundhara Shuvosangho organised an awareness and tree plantation programme in Rangpur with a call for environmental protection.
Shishu Koli Pre-Cadet School founding Principal Md Abdul Khalek Sarkar was the chief guest, and Shuvosangho district unit President Md Sadakat Hossain chaired the discussion meeting at the school on Friday.
Md Sadakat Hossain said that the supply of this essential element is constantly decreasing due to indiscriminate deforestation.
"The amount of harmful gas carbon dioxide is increasing. This imbalance of oxygen and carbon dioxide is destroying the environmental equilibrium and making people's lives difficult," he said.
Teachers Md Anisur Rahman Anis, Md Golam Rabbani, Md Milan Mia, Md Shahidul Islam Saju, Shuvosangho district unit General Secretary Tanjim Hasan, Assistant Organising Secretary Robi Das and Shuvosangho School Coordinator Gulzar Rahman were present on the occasion.
