Shuvosangho organised a speech competition for madrasah students in Shibpur, Narsingdi to commemorate the martyrs of the July Uprising.
Around 250 students participated in the contest held at Jamia Farukia Sherpur Madrasah in the upazila on Friday.
Madrasah principal Maulana Mosleh Uddin presided over the session while Bashundhara Shuvosangho adviser Mahbubur Rahman Monir handed over prizes to the winners.
Enamul Hasan, a competition participant, said, “The Madrasah authorities organise competitions for us every year. The competition arranged by Bashundhara Shuvosangho has increased our knowledge on different issues.”
The madrasha principal said that the competition would inspire students to improve their skills as part of co-curricular activities.
Madrasa education secretary Maulana Zakir Hossain, Mufti Masudur Rahman, Shuvosangho district unit general secretary Rakibul Islam Masum, and members Delwar Hossain, Imran Hossain, Shahidul Islam and Sohel Miah were present.
