National Citizens Party (NCP) southern region chief organizer Hasnat Abdullah said, “We do not want Awami League (AL) to be banned through any executive order. We have demanded that the party be banned after going through trial of genocide, disappearances and crimes committed by them.”
He said this at a rally organized by the National Citizens Party (NCP) in front of the National Museum in Shahbagh on Saturday afternoon.
Hasnat Abdullah said, "There is no such precedent anywhere in the world that those who escape through a mass uprising are given the opportunity to participate in elections again. No Awami League will be rehabilitated on Bengali soil. Indian hegemony will not be allowed to enter Bangladesh again. We are not against any institution. Rather, we are in favor of reconstructing the institutions that Awami League has destroyed."
