Working on someone's side will cause problems: CEC

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin warned the officials of the commission saying stern action will be taken against the responsible officials who will work in favour of any side.

“You will not act biased in the upcoming elections. Earlier, if you didn't work for the ruling party, there would be job problems. It won’t happen this time. So, there is no reason to fear. This time, it will be the opposite. Working on someone's side will cause problems. We will go to a tough position. Therefore, you will work properly as per the law.”

The CEC came up with the warning in the inaugural speech of a day-long workshop in Moulvibazar on Thursday.

Addressing the various levels of officials who participated in the workshop, Nasir Uddin said, "If we work properly, we will present a fair and beautiful election.”

“We want to give a fair election with the cooperation of all from home and abroad. Our goal is to give a fair, beautiful and acceptable election. We have no confusion about this, he added.

The CEC also claimed that they don't take responsibility for the election commission to assist any party or group.
