The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has found clear evidence of corruption and power abuse by ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, ACC Director General Akhtar Hossain told reporters Wednesday.
So far, the ACC investigation team has gathered substantial information confirming Hasina’s complicity in Awami League government’s widespread acts of corruption and power abuse, the corruption watchdog’s chief said.
Hopefully, the media would soon get good and credible news about Hasina’s graft involvement, Akhtar Hossain added.
The ACC is continuing its investigation into allegations that Sheikh Hasina and her family members embezzled Tk80,000 crore through nine high-profile projects including the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP) in Pabna, Ashrayan housing project for the poor, and economic zones. From RNPP alone Tk59,000 crore was embezzled.
