Former minister of civil, aviation and tourism Mohammad Faruk Khan has been arrested by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), reports The Business Standard.
Faruk was arrested at around 1 am on Tuesday from his cantonment residence.
Later, the RAB team handed him over to the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Additional Commissioner Rezaul Karim Mallick confirmed the matter.
The police also said the arrest was made in light of several murder cases filed against Faruk in different police stations.
Faruk served as a minister from 2011-2013 and again in January-August 2024.
