Fever in almost every house in Chittagong

Chittagong has seen a surge in cases of fever in every household. If there are four members in a family, three of them are catching a fever. Children are also being affected.  The fever is accompanied by symptoms like cold, cough, headache, and sore throat. Having said that very few are hospitalized

Many people get anxious when they catch a fever as they fear the possibility of dengue. There are complaints that although the cases of dengue are rising in the city, the mosquito eradication activities are not visible enough. Occasionally, the cleaning workers of the Chittagong City Corporation spray insecticide, but it is not sufficient. As a result, there is an increase in Aedes mosquitoes.

It is reported that because of the rainy season, when there is a fluctuating weather of sun and rain, and a slight chill at night, many people are falling victim to seasonal flu. Elders and children are more likely to be affected. 
Furthermore a lot people are catching a fever because of dengue. Doctors see it as viral fever, viral infection, or seasonal flu.

A resident of the Patharghata area, Eshan, mentioned that in his household of four, three members have fever, with symptoms lasting for two to three days. Everyone is taking medication as advised by their doctors and none have needed hospitalization.

Professor of Chittagong International Medical College Hospital Dr. Muslim Uddin Sabuj, stated that currently, both dengue and seasonal flu are affecting many people at the same time. It usually happens before the winter season. However, no research has been conducted to know why this happens. The simultaneous occurrence of both types of fever(both dengue and seasonal flu) is likely causing this surge. It is crucial for everyone to remain aware and seek medical advice as soon as fever symptoms appear.

Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam, the Civil Surgeon of Chittagong, reported that the number of dengue cases in Chittagong has been high for about a month, with new cases emerging almost daily. The rain is also contributing to an increase in Aedes mosquito breeding. He emphasized that everyone to remain vigilant.
