Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin, along with 4 other election commissioners (ECs) went to NITOR (National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation) to see the condition of the injured in student-public uprising.
After taking oath and completing their first day of office on Sunday, they went to NITOR in the capital in the afternoon.
During the visit, they inquired about the treatment of the injured admitted in various wards and cabins.
Those injured in the uprising thanked the entire commission for coming to know about their treatment immediately after assuming office. At the same time, the July uprising activists also expressed their expectations to the commission in organizing the exemplary election.
Earlier in the afternoon, the CEC and four other commissioners came to the Election Commission building. At that time, the newly appointed CEC spoke to the media personnel.
CEC ASM Md. Nasir Uddin said that there is a debate going on about the participation of Awami League. “Once the debate is over, it will be possible to say whether they will participate in the elections or not,” he said.
He also promised to work to fulfill the demands of the people by learning from the past.
