In order to monitor and review the market situation, the interim government has formed a special task force. The overall aim of this task force is to reduce the price of daily commodities, reports The Daily Sun.
This initiative comes as citizens face significant challenges due to high costs of necessary products in the local market.
According to a notification from the Ministry of Commerce, the additional deputy commissioner will serve as the convener of the 10-member task force.
The assistant director of the Directorate of National Consumers' Rights Protection will act as the member secretary of the task force.
Its members include the additional superintendent of police, district controller of food or appropriate representative, district livestock officer or appropriate representative, district fisheries officer or appropriate representative, agriculture marketing officer or senior agriculture marketing officer, representative of the Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB), and two representatives from students.

The task force will regularly visit various markets, large warehouses, cold storage facilities, and other points in the supply chain to ensure that prices of essential commodities remain reasonable.
It will work to minimize price differences between production, wholesale, and consumer levels and hold meetings with relevant stakeholders.
