Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday filed a case against 24 people, including Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy's former director general Mohammad Liaquat Ali Lucky and its secretary Jahangir Hossain Chowdhury over their involvement in forgery in recruitment process.
ACC spokesperson (deputy director) Aktarul Islam informed that ACC Deputy Director Sumitra Sen filed the case on Sunday, reports UNB.
According to the case, Liaquat Ali and Jahangir forged the mark sheets of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy's recruitment exam and illegally appointed 23 candidates in 10 posts.
The candidates joined the posts and withdrew more than TK 8.28 crore as their salary since their joining, it said.
The accused in the case have been charged with embezzlement of government finds under Sections 409, 420, 468, 471, 109 of the Penal Code, 1860 and Section 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947.
