A Dhaka court on Sunday issued a travel ban on Major General (Retd) TM Jobayer, the former Director General of the Directorate of National Security Intelligence (NSI), and his wife Fahmida Masud.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Court Acting Judge Farzana Yeasmin issued the travel ban appealed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
ACC court inspector Amir Hossain confirmed the travel ban.
Earlier in the day, ACC deputy director Md Anwarul Haque appealed to the court seeking travel ban on TM Jobayer. ACC public prosecutor Mahmud Hossain represented the anti-graft body.
A complaint has been filed against TM Jobayer accusing him of amassing illegal wealth and money laundering.
A retired army officer has recently filed a complaint with the ACC outlining extensive allegations against TM Jobayer.
The ACC sought a travel ban as it apprehended that the accused might leave the country.
