Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who is on a visit in Dhaka, has announced the recruitment of 18,000 Bangladeshi workers in the first phase.
Anwar Ibrahim said this at the press conference after the meeting with chief adviser to the interim government Dr Muhammad Yunus on Friday afternoon at the Intercontinental Hotel in the capital.
Earlier, in the meeting with Dr Muhammad Yunus, the Prime Minister of Malaysia expressed his consent to take bilateral relations to new heights. He also brought good news for Bangladeshi workers.
“I have full confidence in Dr Mohammad Yunus' leadership. I believe that Bangladesh will move forward and remain fully cooperative,” Anwar Ibrahim said at the press conference,
About the country's labor market, Anwar Ibrahim said, "In the first phase, 18 thousand Bangladeshis will be recruited in the labor market of Malaysia."
Dr. Muhammad Yunus said, “I am very happy that my old friend and old friend of Bangladesh has come here to vist. This is the first visit of a head of government to Bangladesh after we took charge.”
