2 tourists’ bodies recovered from Mirsarai waterfall in Ctg

The bodies of two missing tourists were recovered this afternoon from Rupsi Jharna, a waterfall in Mirsarai of Chattogram.

A search and rescue team from the Mirsarai Fire Service and Civil Defence retrieved the bodies around 1 PM, said Imam Hossain Patwari, the station officer. The tourists' identities have yet to be confirmed, reports UNB.

According to eyewitnesses, the two individuals had been visiting the waterfall but tragically drowned, prompting a rescue operation by the fire service.

Imam stated that the diving team began their search at approximately 11 AM, after receiving the report of the missing tourists. The bodies were recovered two hours later.

This incident comes just days after another tragedy on September 27, when a bank official died after being struck by a falling stone at the nearby Khaiachhara Jharna.
