Detectives of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested former Awami League-backed lawmaker, Shahidul Islam Milon elected from Jashore Sadar constituency, from Dhaka’s Gulistan area on Thursday, reports UNB.
Talibur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media) of the DMP, confirmed the matter saying that a Detective Branch team arrested him from Phulbaria area of Dhaka’s Gulistan on Thursday afternoon.
Milon, a freedom fighter and also president of the Jashore district unit of Awami League, was taken to Gulshan police station after being arrested, he said.
He is accused in several cases over the attacks on the students-public during the recent upsurge, the police official said.
