The Ministry of Home Affairs has promoted a total of 47 superintendents of police (SP) to the rank of additional deputy inspector general of police (DIG).
The Public Security Division under the Home Ministry issued a notification on Tuesday (September 24), promoting the BCS police cadre’s officials.
Among the promoted officials, 12 are working as superintendents of district police.
Earlier this week, a departmental promotion committee meeting was held at the ministry and approved the promotions.
According to the sources, most of the promotees were not 'promoted' during the Sheikh Hasina regime still they had fulfilled all the criteria to be promoted, Daily Sun reports.
