The interim government has appointed new Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in 34 districts as part of major reshaffle in the administration.
Public Administration Ministry issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday.
The appointment follows the earlier decision on Monday to appoint new DCs in 25 other districts. On August 20, the DCs from these districts were withdrawn.
The districts where new DCs have been appointed include Manikganj, Tangail, Sirajganj, Satkhira, Jhalakati, Pirojpur, Chuadanga, Netrakona, Rajbari, Jamalpur, Chapainawabganj, Laxmipur, Madaripur, Kishoreganj, Rajshahi, Brahmanbaria, Munshiganj, Shariatpur, Bagerhat, Patuakhali, Sunamganj, Bhola, Meherpur, Panchagarh, Jashore, Barguna, Narail, Nilphamari, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Barishal, Thakurgaon, Narsingdi, and Dinajpur.
With the latest development, a total of 59 districts got new DCs over the past two days.
