Terrible floods affected Cumilla this time as 14 out of 17 upazilas were inundated in the district. There is a shortage of food and clean water in the flood-affected areas. Although food aid reached other upazilas, residents of Manoharganj upazila remained deprived of relief.
Upon hearing about the matter, Bashundhara Shuvosangho members from Kapasia in Gazipur stood by the flood-hit people in Manoharganj. Kapasia Bashundhara Shuvosangho has given food assistance to 200 flood-affected families there.
Smiles have returned to the faces of 200 flood-affected families after receiving various kinds of food. Recently, this assistance was given in several places, including Daburia village of Baishgaon union in the upazila and Jalipur Government Primary School shelter.
Upazila Convener of Bashundhara Shuvosangho Ashiqul Islam said the flood situation has not changed in Manoharganj. The people of the entire upazila are still underwater. In this situation, the members of the Bashundhara Shuvosangho Kapasia Upazila unit distributed food aid among the flood victims in Baishgaon and other areas. Students Social Welfare and Mofaza Tech Solutions have supported us in this work.
The flood victims have been given different aid, including muri (puffed rice), chira (flattened rice), sugar, biscuits, dry cake, liquid milk, three types of medicines, food saline, sanitary napkins, candles, dish wash and pure water.
Journalist Abul Hossain Sabuj, a member of the Shuvosangho unit of the upazila, was also present on the occasion.
Mofaza Tech Solutions Bangladesh IT Resource Manager Azharul Islam Ashiq, HR Manager Imtiaz Zaman Omi, Shuvo and Students Social Welfare’s Saikat were present on the occasion.
Bashundhara Shuvosangho Manohar-ganj Upazila President Shahadat Hossain along with Tanvir Mahmud Arman, Abdur Rahman Tuhin, Tanvir Mahmud Nayeem, Nahid Hasan Tushar were present during the whole aid distribution.
