JSD president Hasanul Haq Inu arrested

Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) President Hasanul Haq Inu was arrested from the capital’s Uttara area on Monday afternoon.  

He has been implicated in several cases including murder filed over state-backed attacks on student-led protests from late July to early August.

Inu served as the information minister under an Awami League-led coalition government from 2012 to 2019.

Earlier on August 22, Worker’s Party President Rashed Khan Menon was arrested in a killing case.

Inu and Menon are both the important leaders of the 14-party alliance.
