Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal No-3 as the low-pressure area over northwest bay and adjoining southern part of Bangladesh intensified into a well-marked low, said the Met office.
It is now lies over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining area. Under its influence deep convection is taking place over North Bay.
According to the maritime bulletin, gusty or squally weather may affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.
All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay have been advised to remain closed to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
