Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun urged police members to take part in various national level competitions to increase religious practice among them, reports UNB.
The IGP was speaking at an award giving ceremony of Bangladesh Police Annual Azaan, Qirat and essay Competition-2023 held at Bangladesh Police Central Jame Mosque in Rajarbagh Police Lines on Friday afternoon.
He said that Azan, Qirat and essay competitions are organised every year to improve religious aspects among policemen.
Like every year, policemen from all police units participated in this competition and the most qualified contestants were selected from among them, he added.
The IGP also thanked the panel of judges for conducting the competition smoothly.
Welcoming the winners of the competition, the IGP said those who did not win should continue to practice to do better in the future.
