Fourteen members of several Islamic political parties in the country, including Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, are going on a visit to China.
At the invitation of the ruling Communist Party of China, 14 leaders from various Islamic parties, including Jamaat, are set to depart for China on Wednesday night.
The 14-member team will be led by Jamaat-e-Islami's central Nayeb-e-Amir and former member of parliament Syed Abdullah Md. Taher.
The delegation includes leaders from 10 Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir, alongside leaders from four other Islamic parties.
This marks the first time that leaders from any Islamic party, including Jamaat, have visited China at the invitation of the ruling Communist Party.
Others who are going on this tour are the Assistant Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami, member of the Central Executive Council and secretary of the Publicity Department, Amir of Dhaka Metropolitan South, Amir of Dhaka Metropolitan North, chief correspondent of Sangram newspaper, Central Secretary General of Islami Chhatra Shibir, Secretary General of Bangladesh Khilafat Movement (part), Khilafat Majlis General Secretary, Secretary General of Bangladesh Nejam-e-Islam Party and Organizing Secretary of Hefazat-e-Islam.
The delegation is expected to return to their home country on December 5, according to reports.
