The High Court has granted bail to former Superintend of Police (SP) Babul Akhter in the sensational Mahamuda Khanam Mitu, wife of the SP, murder case in Chittagong.
The HC bench of Justice Md Atoar Rahman and Justice Md Ali Reza passed the order Wednesday.
According to the case statement, earlier on June 5 of 2016, Mitu, wife of Babul Akhtar, was shot and hacked to death at GEC intersection in Chattogram while she was taking her son to school bus. Then Babul filed a case against the accusing unnamed murderer.
However, in PBI investigation Babul’s involvement with the murder came to the scene. Hence, Mitu’s father filed a case regarding this incident where Babul Akhter was made the prime accused.
